Bank Holiday Weekend

Here in the UK we have just had a Bank Holiday Weekend, which generally means the weather will not be favorable.

But there were the odd moments when the sun decided to make an appearance.
Out in the garden my plants finally seem to be waking up.

Down at the duck pond we have babies aren't they just the cutest bundles of fluff.

and when the sun has decided not to make an appearance gave me the opportunity to finish my cable cushion, add the beads to my cross stitch (which were the fiddliest things ever) and start another crochet project a baby blanket for one of my lovely Consultants.

and of course there was the opportunity to finish another book.

What did you do with your weekend?

  1. I love your new header, your garden is looking fabulous. We did manage a little sunshine over the weekend, it wasn't too bad but we had winds again here, we don't seem to get rid of them for long at the moment. Your cable cushion is gorgeous, I really like it and your cross stitch looks very advanced with beads, I don't think I'll be attempting anything like that for quite some time. We had a few outings over the weekend as well as doing some jobs in the garden.

    1. The header photo is from last year. It may change again yet but I wanted something different from the one I had so that will confuse everyone again won't it. My garden is just about waking up the buddleia are still in the growing stage at the moment. The hydrangea are getting their flowers and peonies are in bud but no where near ready to flower. The beads were fiddley beggars thats for sure and it took me ages to find my bead needle. I need to go in search of more of those as the one I had I have obviously put in that safe place again. fortunately I found one in with another kit that has beads so borrowed that one from there for now. The cushion is proving a hit when I'm sat reading in bed. Will have to make the other one to put on the other side.

    1. I haven't been crocheting that long I'm still on granny squares anything else is a little too advanced for me. The cushion is very comfortable I'm thinking I may have to do the other pattern to even things out.

  6. The new photo in your header is beautiful.
I do like the cable cushion, it'll make a chair a very snug place to be, with another good book I expect.
Love the little duckling, too cute!

  8. Glad to see you got some sun over the long weekend. That cushion is gorgeous and now I want to make one for our lounge, as the one I have behind my back is on its way out. Looking forward to seeing the baby rug. Take care.

    1. Just a bit mainly because it was so cloudy and windy here that there wasn't much opportunity to do anything outside. But I see you have been busy with your girls doing lots of wedding preparations. Not long to go now.
